Hey all,
As we delve well into August I thought I’d write a post on BBQ fashion seeing as its the perfect month for them! If you live in England youll be very well aware that the minute the sun goes in it gets cold so to nail this look down to a T you need to encorporate some sort of warmt as the day goes on.
Let’s start with shoes because why the hell not…. If you’re wanting to go glamorous then it has to be wedges. You don’t want those super thin heels of yours sinking into the grass every step you take! If you’re not up for wedges then a nice pair of sandals will do the trick. Lace up sandals are really in this summer so are perfect!
For the clothes I think you can go 1 of 2 ways. 1 is to stick to a pair of jazzy trousers. As the boho look becomes evermore popular, you can’t go wrong. They will keep you warm as the sun goes in and protect you from any mosquitos! Why not go daring and go for a flared pair? I’ve picked a few of my favourite pairs here! If trousers aren’t your thing I’d recommend sticking to a long skirt (or maxi dress?!). You can get some really nice ones at the moment with slits down the side, so if you’re pairing with some lace up sandals you can show them off beautifully!
With either of these looks I put pair with a plain crop top and then layer with a draped shawl or kimono style cape for when the sun hides away. You can then mix and match both with different skirts and trousers for different places.. Perfect!
I’m absoloutely loving this Boohoo cape – and only £20 too 😊
I took a few photos of my look at the last BBQ I went to so I could share it with you guys… Let me know what you think!
My top is from Zara, and my trousers Primark. They were a bit long for me so I hemmed the bottom and they now fit perfectly!
For my face I decided to keep things simple with a simple cat eye flick and a hint of orange/gold sparkle on the lids. The eyelashes are the Demi Wispies from Ardell. I’ve got MAC Call the Hairdresser lipstick on. 😘
